Need Help?

I have questions about the solid shampoo

I feel like my hair hasn't been rinsed properly.

This can happen sometimes. When your hair is used to chemical products, it tends to "suck up" the chemicals. Because it's not used to natural hair products, it takes a while to adjust and goes through a sort of "detox" process. This explains why it might seem like your hair is badly rinsed. When you switch to a natural shampoo, you have to get through this difficult detox period, but it's worth it in the end! In the meantime, you could always rinse your hair with a vinegar and water solution, or use an apple cider vinegar rinse to solve the problem until it goes away naturally – which it will!

Can the solid shampoo for oily hair be used on colour-treated hair?

Yes! Our shampoos are sulphate-free, so you can use our shampoos for oily hair on colour-treated hair.

Do the shampoos contain glycerine ? . . .

No, there isn't any glycerine in our shampoos.

Can pregnant women use the solid shampoo for oily hair ? . . .

If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, you can choose one of our shampoos that's free of essential oils. The shampoo with green clay and spirulina for oily hair will be perfect! The shampoo with rhassoul clay, however, contains essential oils, so it's not recommended if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

What is the size of the solid shampoos ? . . .

The dimensions of our disc-shaped shampoos are approximately 7 x 1.8 cm. Our shampoos are made by hand using traditional methods, so these dimensions may vary slightly from one shampoo to another. The contents, on the other hand, are always the same: 70 ml !

The shampoos contain palmitic acid. But this acid is usually derived from palm oil. Is that the case with your shampoos ? . . .

The fact that the word "palmitic" contains the word "palm" can lead to some confusion! It gives the impression that it comes from palm oil. But in this case, it has nothing to do with palms. Palmitic acid is a fatty acid, and the "palm" simply indicates that it has a carbon chain of 16 carbon atoms.

It's used as a thickening agent that helps to hold our products together and make them last. Palmitic acid can be obtained from many plants, and ours is derived from olives.

Do the solid shampoos contain sulphates ? . . .

No, none of our shampoos contain sulphates.

The shampoos that are free of essential oils are made from natural, non-synthetic ingredients. So how can they have a fragrance ? . . .

A fragrance is a blend of aromatic molecules. It doesn't have an action on the skin or the hair; it just gives a scent. Fragrances can be natural or synthetic. Lamazuna products only contain natural fragrances.

An essential oil is extracted from a part of a plant. Each essential oil has one or several properties. When allergens are naturally present in the plant, these allergens will also be found in the essential oil, which is why you may find allergens indicated in the ingredient list.

I'm worried that by rubbing the shampoo directly over my head, I'm getting my hair tangled.

No need to panic!

You don't have to rub the shampoo directly over your hair. You could also rub it between your hands, like a soap, and then apply it!

We have a little tip too... Lean your head forward so you can really work the shampoo into the roots and spread it over your scalp. There's no need to rub it through the lengths of your hair, as they'll be washed when you rinse the shampoo off!

Is the coconut oil in your solid shampoos compatible with plant-based hair dyes ? . . .

Coconut oil does not strip plant-based hair dye from your hair. Quite the opposite! It's actually recommended that you apply coconut oil to colour-treated hair to hydrate and revitalise.

What's more, our shampoos don't contain sulphates, so they're perfectly compatible with colour-treated hair. :)

Do the shampoos contain silicones ? . . .

No, our shampoos do not contain silicones!

Could you give me the contents (in ml) of the shampoos ? . . .

The volume of our solid shampoos is now 70 ml, but the price hasn't changed!

It makes more sense to talk in ml rather than grams, as our solid cosmetics are all made by hand and poured into a mould with a specific volume. The density of our solid products can vary from one batch to another as it depends on humidity, the temperature in the room, and the density of the raw materials used.

When the density varies, the weight varies, but the volume remains the same. This is why we talk in ml for our solid cosmetics. It's a matter of precision!

Why is this shampoo not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women ? . . .

This product is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women as it contains essential oils. But don't worry – we have several shampoos that are free of essential oils, so they're perfectly safe for you to enjoy, even if you're pregnant or breastfeeding ! Our solid shampoos have a pH of between 5.5 and 6.5.

What is the pH of your shampoos ?

Our solid shampoos have a pH of between 5.5 and 6.5.

The disc-shaped shampoo won't fit inside my Lamazuna jar! What can I do ? . . .

Unfortunately, now that our shampoos come in a new, wider format, they no longer fit into our glass jar. But that doesn't mean you can't still use it!

Our Incredible Organiser is perfect for storing your solid products, including the new disc-shaped shampoos. It allows you to tell them apart and keep them dry too. Take a look at it here!

You can keep using the Lamazuna jar for other solid products, such as your deodorant. You could also use its perforated lid to hold our new shampoos. They may be bigger, but they're also flatter, so they could sit on top of the lid to dry out.

And last but not least, our mini pouches, made from upcycled fabric, can be used to hold our disc shampoos. They fit inside them perfectly!

How long do the shampoos last ? . . .

Our shampoos last for about two months when used once every three days.
